KEY POINTS:
Police recovered drugs worth $500,000, a loaded firearm, stun guns, stolen goods and thousands of dollars in cash when they raided a south Auckland property this morning.
Two men, aged 45 and 20, were arrested at the Manurewa address and face charges including possession for supply of class A drugs heroin and methamphetamine.
Detective Sergeant Kevin Burke said: "It's unusual for us to find heroin these days, but the amount we recovered apparently has a street value of more than half a million dollars.
"What's alarming is that we also recovered a loaded .22 pistol fitted with a silencer, along with further ammunition. There was also $6,000 cash at the property and a range of other drugs - including ecstasy - and jewellery."
Police were expecting to recover a range of goods stolen during burglaries throughout Auckland but said much of what they were looking for was not at the address.
The men will appear at Auckland District Court this afternoon.
