The owner of a car which crashed into the Avon River in Christchurch this morning is being interviewed by police.
A police spokesman said emergency services were called to the scene on River Rd, between Banks Ave and Medway St, at 10.14am.
At this stage police were unsure as to how the car ended up in the water.
The spokesman said the driver, who did not sustain any injuries in the crash, was found by officers a short time later, and was currently assisting police with their inquiries.
A tow truck was being brought in to remove the car from the river.
