Police have been stopping drivers on Whanganui River Road, as part of their investigation into the disappearance of Brett Hall.
They waved over roughly 25 cars yesterday near Pitangi Track, where Mr Hall had a lifestyle block.
Senior Sergeant David Kirby says the checkpoint was a useful exercise aimed at finding people who might be able to help.
Mr Hall's disappearance is being treated as a homicide inquiry.
He hasn't been seen since the end of May.
