A police pursuit in Waikato tonight ended when the chased vehicle's tyres were spiked.
The chase began in Huntly West and finished on the Waikato Expressway just before 8pm.
A witness, Peter, said dozens of police cars were involved and at one point the chase had to be abandoned.
Police said the car was being driven dangerously and was suspected of driving off from a petrol station without paying.
Two occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
