Three men who had allegedly just stolen cash from a central city internet cafe were arrested after they crashed their getaway car during a pursuit in Auckland on Saturday night.
Police said three men entered the cafe at 9.30pm and demanded cash from the occupants.
They then left in a car. Police spotted the vehicle and pursued them on the Southern Motorway.
The car attempted to leave the motorway at the Ellerslie Penrose off-ramp and crashed.
Police found the three occupants uninjured. They were charged with theft and may face other charges.
