Police piece together Paeroa death clues

Police say they know how Paeroa pizza shop owner Jordan Voudouris was killed and are combing through CCTV footage for more clues.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Whitehead said interim post-mortem examination results had given a clear indication of how the much-loved 55-year-old had received the injuries that caused his death, though they are not saying how.

"This information may prove vital to catching the offender and solving this homicide so police will not be commenting on those details at this stage of the investigation.''

Mr Whitehead said Mr Voudouris' family had been kept informed and CCTV footage was the current focus of the investigation.

"Further examination of CCTV coverage in Paeroa shows a number of people walking or driving through the town during the late evening on Sunday and early morning on Monday.''

He said police were working to identify those people.

Police yesterday announced they were trying to establish the routines and habits of Mr Voudouris.

His body was found in a driveway behind his business, Mykono's Pizzas early on Monday.

Mr Whitehead said friends, employees and patrons had been helping police and they had good assistance from the Paeroa community.

Police have not yet established whether there were any links between Mr Voudouris' death and two robberies in the region around the same time.
