Police are tonight looking for a young woman who is believed to have gone missing in bush north of Auckland.
Three police units have been called to Okura Bush, near Okura Road, Rodney, after the 23-year-old female went walking on an unfamiliar track and could not be contacted by friends. He friends then contacted police for assistance.
"The woman's mobile phone had gone flat and a concerned friend called police because they could not reach her," a police spokesman said.
"They were concerned she had wandered off the track and had got lost in the bush."
Search and Rescue is involved in trying to locate the missing woman but at this stage it is unclear what has happened to her, the police spokesman added.
