An Auckland police officer who pushed a teen off his bike and held him up against a fence will not face criminal charges.
In August a clip posted to Facebook showed the police officer pushing the boy off his bike.
The video was viewed nearly 40,000 times.
Upper North professionalconduct manager Inspector Tracy Phillips said police had now completed a criminal investigation.
Police were called to Savill Drive and Alderman Pl, Mangere, after receiving multiple calls about a group of disorderly youths making excessive noise, fighting and of cyclists weaving in and out of traffic.
Phillips said the officers asked the youths to turn off their music and to leave the area, which is when the teen was pushed off his bike.
The inspector added that police took the matter "very seriously" and carried out a thorough criminal investigation.
"In line with what the victim's family wanted, it has been decided the officer will not face any criminal charges. He will meet with the victim and his family to offer an apology."
