The Green Party is calling on police to make better use of information submitted on the Community Roadwatch website.
The site allows road users to report incidents of bad driving where they don't wish the driver to be prosecuted.
Green MP Kevin Hague said information received under the Official Information Act showed the police were not analysing the data collected on the site.
Mr Hague said the valuable data could be used to help police prioritise road policing.
An amendment last year allowed police to capture what mode of transport the complainant was using, but Mr Hague said this was not being used.
