The Police National Dive Squad is joining the search for a woman missing in Pahiatua, near Palmerston North.
Elizabeth Udy, best known as Lizzie, was first reported missing on October 11 after she was seen early in the morning in the Pahiatua township.
The 45-year-old is European, of slim buildand is around 155cm tall. She was wearing a nightgown when she was last seen, which was near the Mangatainoka River by the Pahiatua Town Bridge.
Following two weeks of land and shallow water searches, police had been unable to find any sign of Lizzie.
Sergeant Shane Brown of the Manawatu Police said a land search had been scaled down on Wednesday.
Police were also requesting that Pahiatua residents check their properties and surrounding areas, and remain alert to the fact Udy is missing from the area.
