Police name woman killed in weekend car crash

Police have named the Auckland woman who died in the only fatal road accident over the weekend.

She was 48-year-old Lauren Mirie Bregman of Waimauku in West Auckland.

Ms Bregman was killed when her car was hit by a car travelling on the wrong side of the road on State Highway 16 near Huapai, 2km northwest of Kumeu.

The driver of the other car was taken to Auckland Hospital with injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
