Police have named a man they want to question over yesterday's armed robbery of a Palmerston North Kiwibank branch.
They believe Eugene Raki Salmon, 30, was involved in the robbery of the Terrace End branch just before 4pm, and was also the person who drove off from a routine police stop in Feilding about an hour later.
The driver of the car crashed into a tree and then ran off. Searches failed to find him.
Police believe the two incidents are linked and would like to hear from anyone who knows where Salmon might be.
He has an address in Upper Hutt but also has associations in the Feilding area and is known to be transient, they said.
He is described as Maori, about 1.85 tall, with short dark hair.
