Police today named a Brazilian national killed in a crash near Queenstown on Friday evening.
He was Anderson Luiz Dos Santos, 32, who had been living in Queenstown.
Mr Santos was taken to Lakes District Hospital in critical condition, after the two-car crash on State Highway 6 near the Shotover bridge, about 5pm Friday.
However, he died three hours later.
The only person in the other car, Brad James Nielson, 31, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Southland Hospital.
Mr Santos' death had been referred to the coroner, police said.
Two motorcyclists died in separate crashes yesterday.
A 30-year-old man died after a the motorcycle he was riding and a car collided on a one-way Coromandel bridge, on State Highway 25, about 3km south of Tairua, about 11.30am.
His name had not yet been released, as one of his next of kin was believed to be overseas, police said today.
A 38-year-old motorcyclist also died in a collision with a car in the central North Island about 2.30pm.
The man's 36-year-old wife, who had been riding pillion, was also injured in the crash on Kopaki Rd, about 22km southeast of Te Kuiti.
The Youthtown Trust Rescue Helicopter flew her to Waikato Hospital.
The people in the car were not injured.
