74-year-old Rhonda Grace from Kumeu died after an incident at a property on State Highway 16 in Kumeu.
A pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in a West Auckland car park has been named as local woman Rhonda Grace.
A police spokeswoman said Grace, 74, died after an incident at a property on State Highway 16 in Kumeu.
Police's thoughts are with Grace's family and friends at this time.
Emergency services were called to a "commercial car park" on SH16 at about 2.50pm on September 7.
Waitemata Senior Sergeant Tony Miller said at the time a car had struck a pedestrian who died at the scene.
Due to the crash occurring in a carpark, traffic in the area was not affected.
The circumstances of the incident have not yet been released.
The Serious Crash Unit investigation continues.
A local resident driving past the scene said several police cars were parked at a property opposite a strawberry farm.
"[Police officers] were all standing on the driveway and there was a blue BMW parked just in front of the police cars.
"I didn't see an ambulance, but there were a lot of police there.''
The woman, who asked not to be named, said people often stopped their vehicles in that area and crossed the road to go to the strawberry farm shop to get an icecream.
She said locals often complained how dangerous this was.
