South Auckland police have named the mother of four murdered in her Papakura home.
She was Leanne Kingston. The 39-year-old was a triplet.
She was found dead in her Cargill St yesterday afternoon by one of her sisters, after her children were not picked up from school.
Her children, aged between eight and nineteen, are being cared for by relatives.
Detective Inspector Mark Gutry says they have been told by neighbours that there was a disturbance at the house just before 1pm yesterday.
He says there were sounds of glass smashing and voices raised.
Mr Gutry says police have spoken to a number of people, including the children's father.
"There was shared custody and they did stay between the two addresses. And that's gone on for a number of years, as I understand. We haven't discounted anyone at this stage."
Mr Gutry says a thorough scene investigation is being carried out.
"That's taking some time and it's likely to take several more days."
Victim Support is working with the woman's distraught children and members of her extended family.
A post-mortem will be held tomorrow.
