KEY POINTS:
Police have released the name of a Christchurch man killed in an intersection collision at Fernside, near the North Canterbury town of Rangiora, yesterday.
Tasesa Pelenato Mataa'le, 35, a painter, died at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Johns Rd and Plaskett Rd just after 8am. He was married with two children.
Police said Mr Mataa'le was a rear seat passenger in a Nissan vehicle that collided with a shingle truck. It appeared the Nissan had driven through a stop sign.
The Nissan driver and a front-seat passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The truck driver was unhurt.
Constable Caroline Stowell, of Rangiora police, said today an investigation into the crash was continuing.
