KEY POINTS:
Police have named the man struck and killed by a train in Christchurch on Saturday evening.
He was Wayne Michael McKenzie, 23, a student.
He was on the tracks west of the Curletts Road rail overbridge in south-west Christchurch at 6pm when he was struck by a train.
Mr McKenzie was originally from West Coast but was living in Christchurch.
His death has been referred to the coroner.
