KEY POINTS:
Police have named a man who was killed in Balclutha yesterday when a pre-fabricated concrete slab fell on him.
Stewart Leslie Michie, 74, of Balclutha, was working at Fulton Hogan's plant when the concrete slab - about 3 metres by 3 metres - fell just before 2pm.
The Labour Department's occupational safety and health unit is investigating the incident.
Mr Michie was understood to have worked for the company for about 12 years.
Acting Senior Sergeant Richard Whitmore, of Balclutha police, said today a file would be prepared for a coroner's inquest.
