Police have named the 28-year-old man who was killed today when he was crushed by a concrete slab in south Auckland.
Ezra Visesio, of Otara, died after a pre-cast wall panel weighing about five tons fell from an overhead crane and killed him.
The accident happened at about 9am at Stresscrete concrete fabrication factory in Papakura.
A second man was taken to Middlemore Hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
The Hunua Road site was closed immediately after the accident while police and Occupational Safety and Health carried out an investigation.
Stresscrete will also carry out an investigation, spokesman David Peach said.
Stresscrete is New Zealand's largest supplier of precast and prestressed concrete.
