KEY POINTS:
Police have named the 25-year-old who died in a road accident in South Canterbury yesterday afternoon.
He was Alan David Johnston, from Makikihi, 29km south west of Timaru.
Police said Mr Johnston, who was driving a four-wheel drive, died after a head on collision at Makikihi about 2.30pm.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Timaru Hospital with moderate head injuries.
