Police name man found dead in Hastings

Police this afternoon named the 60-year-old man found dead in a Hastings house following a domestic dispute.

He was Hoera Tako Ripohau whose body was found in the Flaxmere Avenue, Flaxmere, property about 6pm on Monday.

The death is being treated as suspicious.

Senior Sergeant Greg Brown said that inquiries were continuing.

A post mortem examination was being held today when police expected to establish the cause of death.

Further details would be released once this was known.
