Police were today continuing their investigations into the five fatal road accidents in the Auckland region last weekend.
The five people killed in the incidents were among 15 who died on New Zealand roads between Friday and yesterday morning.
The names of the five were released this afternoon.
They included Aucklander Paul Leonard Worters, 45, who was killed instantly when his four-wheel-drive smashed into a power pole at Waitakere Rd, Taupaki, at 1.45am on Saturday.
At 11am, Orewa woman Prudence Ebery, 62, a passenger, died in a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 17 at Albany.
Tearai Meuli, 25, of Auckland, died after the car carrying him and three others hit a tree in Lynwood Road, Kelston, just before 8pm.
On Sunday, Whangarei man Harjinder Singh, 25, died after a crash on SH1 at Te Hana, north of Wellsford about 8.30am.
At 7.30pm, a two-car collision at the Brighams Creek Road and State Highway 16 intersection at Whenuapai claimed the life of teenager Marissa Naish.
Marissa, 14, was from nearby Kumeu.
