A 31-year-old Napier man who died after falling from his motorcycle in Napier yesterday was Desmond Shane Thompson, of Napier.
Police and St John Ambulance were called about 10.40am.
A resident of the street said Mr Thompson had been riding the motorcycle up and down the road and appeared to lose control.
He had not been wearing a helmet and died from head injuries at the scene.
