Police have named the husband and wife found dead in a house in Taumarunui yesterday morning but cannot yet say how they died.
David Nicholas Otimi, 43, and Bernadette Otimi, 41, were found in their home in Taupo Road about 8.45am, police spokeswoman Kim Perks said.
The couple had three children under the age of 13 who were in the house and raised the alarm. They are now being cared for by family.
Police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths, but it was too early to say whether they were suspicious, Ms Perks said.
Post mortems would establish the cause of the couples' deaths and the coroner had been informed.
