The name of the 17-year-old who died on his way to school in Christchurch has been released by police.
Cashmere High School pupil Thomas Fastier died after collapsing on Opawa Rd yesterday.
A post mortem examination has been carried out and the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Cottam said his thoughts were with Tom's family and friends.
"I would also like to thank members of the public who stopped to assist Tom and those who contacted Police with information after this sad event."
