KEY POINTS:
Police have made four arrests in connection with the burglary of the home of a Tauranga grandfather who was badly assaulted in a later attack.
Eric Williams, 83, was attacked this month by three people, who took two cellphones and $40. He was punched and kicked so hard blood poured from his nose and ears.
Tauranga police are still investigating the April 5 assault, but a 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both of Tauranga, were arrested for the burglary of Mr Williams' home in March.
Two other people were charged with possession of methamphetamine and cannabis as a result of search warrants seeking the stolen property.
