South Island police have made arrests after two alleged rapes early this morning.
At Motueka, a 26-year-old man was charged with rape, after a complaint from a Nelson woman at a house in suburban Westbank.
Senior Sergeant Grant Andrews said a number of people were being spoken to by police today and inquiries should be completed in the next few days.
The man arrested, a 26-year-old seasonal worker from Riwaka, near Motueka, will appear in Nelson District Court on Monday.
Police in North Canterbury have arrested a 39-year-old man and charged him with a rape after an incident in that region early this morning.
Few details were available, but the arrested man will appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday.
