Police are hunting an armed man who allegedly robbed a Christchurch pizza outlet yesterday.

The man, armed with a knife, allegedly threatened staff and robbed the Domino's Pizza in Hornby, about 10pm, police said.

He made off with a large amount of cash.

The man was described as a Maori or Polynesian, aged early to mid-20s, about 165cm tall and believed to be wearing a dark-coloured hoodie.
