Counties Manukau Police are looking for a 23-year-old man who escaped custody from Manukau District Court around midday today.
Joshua Ian Smith is described as "very tall at approximately 6ft 4", (195cm) of a medium build and is cleanshaven.
At the time he fled, he was wearing a black hoody, white shoes and navy track pants.
He is facing charges of wilful damage and breaching home detention conditions.
Counties Manukau Police are currently searching the area for him.
