Police looking for man wanted on drugs charges

Police are looking for a 55-year-old man facing a number of serious drug charges who has slipped bail.

Steven John Mehrtens, who has links to the Coromandel, Waikato and Marlborough areas, has a warrant out for his arrest.

He was not considered dangerous but should not be approached by the public, police said.

Mehrtens has a very distinctive large growth on the side of his neck. He was described as European with short sandy hair and moustache.
