Police are looking for a man who attempted to lift a school girl's skirt as she walked home in the Wellington suburb of Tawa.
Police said the 12-year-old girl reacted swiftly when a man aged about 40 tried to lift her skirt as she walked along Franklyn Road shortly after 4pm on Tuesday, February 12.
She flicked the man's hand away and he ran off in one direction while she ran home to alert police.
The man was described as Indian, of medium build, with black/grey hair and bushy eyebrows. He wore a brown wool vest and greyish coloured trousers.
Anyone who had seen a man fitting that description was asked to call Porirua police.
