Police looking for man after Hamilton stabbing

A woman has been stabbed after an attempted bag snatch near Hamilton Lake this afternoon.

She was taken to Waikato Hospital, where she was reportedly in a moderate to serious condition.

Police are now looking for a man in relation to the attack that happened on Ruakiwi Rd about 1.15pm, the Waikato Times reported.

This is the second bag snatching incident in Hamilton after three girls went on a handbag snatching spree on Sunday night.

Two women were allegedly attacked in separate assault on Sunday.

Three women, aged 17, 21 and 26, were arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. The 17-year-old faces an additional charge of assault using a spatula and beer glass.

The trio were due to appear in Hamilton District Court today for bail applications.
