The mental health patient who escaped from a Porirua hospital yesterday has been found, exhausted.
Kieran John Doody, 29, was located by members of the public at about 7pm this evening wandering on walking tracks near Colonial Knob, Porirua, police said.
He was in an exhausted condition and was being assessed by medical staff.
No further details were available.
Mr Doody, a special patient, escaped from the grounds of Ratonga Rua Hospital while on an escorted walk yesterday.
