A South Auckland teenager has been charged with common assault after a 19-year-old man died following a fight early on Saturday.
The 18-year-old will appear in the Manukau District Court today.
Police named the man who was killed as Samiuela Halaifonua of South Auckland.
Halaifonua died in Middlemore Hospital after he was stabbed during a fight at a house party in Favona. Police were called to the house just after midnight on October 8.
Counties Manukau detective inspector Gary Lendrum said police were continuing to investigate Halaifonua's death and were not ruling out further arrests.
"We are continuing to speak with several people in relation to the incident and following positive lines of inquiry," Lendrum said.
"Our thoughts are also with Mr Halaifonua's family at this difficult time."
