Police are on the hunt for a new base in Greytown.
Last week police confirmed their long-term lease on the station in Kuratawhiti St had expired and they were in the process of finding a new site.
Acting Area Commander Inspector Nic Brown said a site had not yet been found, but options included moving into the Town Hall, the fire station, or taking a private lease at another site.
"We are still working out the details but the Greytown cop needs to move out of there, so we are looking at a number of options. We are working with both council and the fire service to secure a premises," he said.
The long-term goal was to move into the fire station building, which was due to be redeveloped, in accordance with the national policy encouraging police to share premises with other services.
