KEY POINTS:
Hamilton police are appealing to the public for sightings of a dark blue Nissan Bluebird after the knife-point kidnapping of a man yesterday morning.
Detective Mark Watt, of Hamilton, said an 18-year-old man was kidnapped by two men about 2am yesterday.
The victim was forced into the boot of his car and driven around Hamilton and Cambridge before eventually being left at the summit of the Raglan Deviation on State Highway 23.
Mr Watt said the victim's dark blue 1993 Nissan Bluebird, registration XN7838, was recovered on Snell Drive shortly after midday yesterday.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw the car between 2am and midday.
"Of particular interest are any sightings of the car around Cambridge's ANZ Bank and BP service station and of it at the top of the deviation on SH23," Mr Watt said.
The kidnappers are described as Caucasians aged in their early 20s, one with a shaved head, and the other with a number one haircut and wearing dark clothing.
