Police believe they know the identity of a man whose body was pulled from the Heathcote River in Christchurch yesterday afternoon. Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae said it was thought to be a 44-year-old local man.
A woman spotted the body while walking along the riverbank in suburban Opawa late yesterday morning. Mr Rae said there were some unexplained circumstances surrounding the discovery and police would speak with the man's family.
