Blenheim police have set up a profile on popular internet site Bebo to reach out to the community.
Constable Dan Mattison says it is an avenue for people to pass on information anonymously.
If the site is successful, Mr Mattison says, he might look at creating profiles on other networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace.
