Nearly 130 infringement notices have been issued by police in the first month of new laws targeting noisy vehicles.
The Land Transport Act changes took effect on January 16.
By February 16, police across the country had issued 129 offence notices, accompanied by fines worth more than $32,000
The Waikato District recorded the most offences at 38, the Canterbury District was next with 24.
Collectively the Auckland, North Shore, and Counties Manukau Police Districts issued only 10 offence notices.
