KEY POINTS:
A police investigation into allegations of attempting to pervert the course of justice against Solicitor-General David Collins over the alleged unfair dismissal of a Department of Conservation employee has been dropped.
It was the second time this month that a police investigation has cleared Dr Collins of a criminal complaint.
Police said proceedings against Dr Collins regarding the DOC employee were withdrawn following submissions made in an employment tribunal in Nelson yesterday.
He was last week cleared of a perjury allegation brought by a former client in his days as a barrister, Horowhenua District Councillor and author Anne Hunt.
Dr Collins had worked as Ms Hunt's legal counsel when she released a book in 2003 which discussed claims by an unidentified woman that she had been sexually abused by her therapist.
