A man believed to be using a fake Facebook profile to communicate with young girls is being investigated by police.
The man, who has been going by the name of "Nick Davis" on Facebook, has been using the social networking site to communicate inappropriately with young teenage females, Hutt Valley Police said.
"The suspect has created a fictitious presence under the false name of 'Nick Davis' for the purpose of facilitating these communications," said Detective Kylee Cusin.
Police are asking anyone who has had any communication of this nature with "Nick Davis" on Facebook to contact Detective Cusin at Hutt Valley Police or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
