Waikato police are investigating the separate deaths of two babies overnight.
Police spokesman Andrew McAlley said a seven week-old boy was found dead at a Te Aroha home early this morning.
A seven month-old girl was also found dead in a Morrinsville home.
"Both cases have been referred to the Coroner, in both instances child sudden death procedures have been implemented which include paediatric examination which are carried out in Auckland and Wellington," Mr McAlley said.
He said police are supporting both families and no more information is available.
