Police were called to a Christchurch address this afternoon after a man died suddenly.
Ambulance initially attended a Waltham Rd home at 4pm after a 65-year-old man collapsed, before requesting police assistance.
Southern police communications shift inspector Lindsay Turner said due to the unknown circumstances around the man's death, an investigation would go ahead.
Mr Turner said police are working with the dead man's family.
