Police investigate Hastings arson

Police are investigating an arson at a house in Hastings last night.

Firemen were called after neighbours saw smoke coming from the house in Freyberg Street at about 8.25pm.

Police said today that a person was seen running away from the fire and property from inside the house was found nearby.

Police and the Fire Service were today conducting a scene examination and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
