Police are investigating this morning's fire at the house where Whangarei teenager Mairina Dunn's body was found last month.
Fire crews were called to douse the fire at the Holme Street address in Otangerei at 5.45am today.
Fire safety officer Craig Bain said it appeared the blaze was started in ten different parts of the house, and that some type of accelerant was involved.
The property has been empty since 17-year-old Mairina died.
Police launched a manhunt for Black Power gang member Nathan Fenton, 31, after her battered body was found in the house on August 27.
Fenton was captured alongside Eileen Everitt, 28, near Russell in the Bay of Islands on September 7 and charged with Mairina's murder.
Everitt was charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder, two counts of burglary and two counts of unlawfully taking a boat.
