Waikato police are investigating the death of a man, after they were called to a disturbance in Huntly.
Waikato acting crime manager Mike Whitehead said police were called to the Huntly home, shortly before 11pm on Friday.
When police arrived they found the man - in his 50's - on the ground, he said.
Police performed CPR on the man until an ambulance arrived but he could not be revived and died at the scene, Mr Whitehead said.
An investigation had been launched and a number of witnesses had been interviewed during the night, he said.
An examination of the scene would be undertaken today and a post-mortem examination would be carried out, he said.
