KEY POINTS:
Police are today interviewing the friends and family of a 19-year-old man who is in a critical condition after being stabbed at a party in Hastings last night.
Senior Sergeant Stuart Fleming said the man was stabbed in the leg at a Liverpool Crescent house in suburban Flaxmere about 10.30pm.
The man was taken to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital where he was in a critical condition this morning, Mr Fleming said.
Hastings CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Dave De Lange said police were following positive lines of inquiry.
"We believe the offender was known to the man. We're interviewing a number of family members who were at the party last night," he said.
