KEY POINTS:
Police have interviewed a man about a sexual assault at a Dunedin hotel last night.
The assault occurred in a room at Leviathan Hotel, in Queens Gardens, about 8.35pm, Senior Sergeant Brian Benn said.
The man, 50, was found near the hotel and no one else was being sought, he said.
A "distressed" woman was taken to Dunedin Hospital for a medical check, the Otago Daily Times reported.
Police said there was no suggestion the incident was linked to two sexual assaults in Dunedin last weekend.
