Police interview husband in Fiji

Waikato police in Fiji have interviewed Davesh Sharma in connection with his wife's gruesome killing last week, but no charges have been laid.

He fled with his 4-year-old son to Fiji the day after his wife's body was found on fire on a rural road near Huntly.

She had been doused in accelerant while still alive and set alight.

Detective Senior Sergeant Nigel Keall said police were evaluating their options and still discussing the ongoing care and protection of the couple's son.
