Police immigration papers stolen at hotel

The bag of a police officer doing work for the Immigration Service was stolen at the weekend.

However a spokesman for police national headquarters said no "highly sensitive" documents were inside.

The spokesman could not say what rank the officer was or what work he was doing for the service.

"All we are saying is that material was stolen from the reception of an Auckland hotel and that there was no counter terrorism or other highly sensitive information amongst that material," he said.
